Sustrans Connect2 shortlisted for TV vote

Connect2 has now officially been named as one of the four projects set to go head-to-head this December in a live TV vote, competing for £50 million of lottery money. This will be the largest amount ever awarded by the Big Lottery Fund – and if victorious, Connect2 will use the money to improve local travel in 79 communities across the UK by creating new walking and cycling routes for the journeys that people make everyday.

We have been working with Sustrans throughout 2007 to give them the web presence necessary to reach all communities involved with Connect2. The 79 schemes are spread throughout the UK so the website acts as the key focal point for all its supporters, helping to maintain the intimate community feel that such a widely-spread initiative could easily lose.

The photo gallery we recently added for them has been eagerly used by many supporters, images uploaded by members of the general public ranging from the amusing to just plain odd!
